“Integrity” – an easy word to pronounce, but not everyone has it.
“Knowledge” – hard to obtain without hard work.
Those two words have been the foundation of Cornish & Carey’s philosophy for 75 years.
In 1935 George Carey and Herbert Cornish, a couple of Stanford grads, started Cornish & Carey with a small office in Palo Alto. Believing that the client always came first, the company began to grow by forging lasting relationships that resulted in repeat business and referrals. They realized from the start that good brokerage is all about people and relationships.
Today Cornish & Carey Commercial has 12 offices and over 300 agents and staff but the core values are still the same words - “Integrity and Knowledge”. These values and the unbreakable entrepreneurial spirit are the foundation of how C&C does business.
In traditional “Top Down” Corporations, you have to go through the proper channels to talk to your boss. At C&C these structures do not apply. There are no time clocks, no secretary you have to appease before you get an appointment with the “Big Guy”, no fixed work hours. Here, you actually enjoy coming to work.
A sense of “belonging”, rather then employment, being part of a bigger “family”, rather then a “normal” job, working with people and clients that over the years have become close friends – this is why C&C works so well. It means people stay and so do our clients.
While there are always ups and downs in this business, the future is bright, and the family is strong. We look forward to many more years of fun and success.
